This requires labor to perform and will also leave a legend mark on your legend as you increase in Blade Smithing Level. It reduces the weight of the sword, as well as increased the weapon damage, value and Insight to wear as well. You can only practice blade smithing on plain unaltered equipment. A max of level ten is the limit for this skill. As you practice you will also receive Experience and the blade will become perishable.
